The Moscow attacker “Spartacus” Maxim Tsyplakov entered the sphere of interest of the NHL club “Toronto” for the next season, the hockey player’s agent Alexander Chernykh told The Athletic.
According to a representative for the 25-year-old, last week he and Tsyplakov spoke for nearly an hour with members of Toronto management via video link. In particular, they discussed the question of the hockey player’s position in the event of a transfer to the Leafs – whether Tsyplakov, the right winger, could play in the center.
According to Chernov, at least 12 NHL clubs have expressed interest – either in person or through virtual meetings – in signing Tsyplakov for next season.
Tsyplakov’s current contract with the “red and whites” runs until the end of the current season.
This season, Tsyplakov played 58 games in the KHL regular season and scored 45 points (30 goals + 15 assists).
