Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernychenko during a working visit to St. Petersburg, he said that the SKA Arena would contribute to the execution of the instructions of the President of Russia.

Chernychenko emphasized that it is the largest hockey palace in the world and the flagship arena of Russian hockey.
“The installation is impressive, both for its innovative solutions, where everything is thought out down to the smallest detail, and for its scale. But the most important thing is that this is the most modern, safe and efficient palace for working with spectators. Most recently, it hosted the KHL All-Star Game, attended by more than 40,000 spectators over two days. The complex is designed to accommodate 21,500 people at various hockey events and up to 23,000 people at concerts. This capacity also contributes to the fulfillment of the instructions of the President of Russia to reach 70% of our citizens regularly practicing sports. It also requires sports stars and resounding victories. Such role models, whom boys want to imitate, help to increase the number of people involved in sports, cites the office of Deputy Prime Minister Chernychenko.
Chernyshenko added that, on the instructions of Vladimir Putin, the KHL was doing a lot of work to reduce government funding of clubs and increase their business efficiency.
— SKA’s first match will take place in this arena on Sunday, we are happy that they have moved. In 2022, one arena was opened in Omsk, in 2023 – in Novosibirsk, both arenas are filling up. SKA has a large army of supporters in St. Petersburg, I think that the day after tomorrow the KHL attendance record for indoor matches will be broken – 17,073 spectators in 2014. The conditions in the arena are comfortable, the league carried out an inspection – the SKA Arena fully complies with the technical regulations of the KHL. The playoffs are coming and we hope that all fans will be comfortable in this palace and SKA will be able to attract full houses and increase its commercial income,” said KHL President Alexei Morozov.
