Russian defender “Vancouver » Nikita Zadorov suspended for two games for a violent tackle on Detroit’s Swedish forward Lukas Raymond, which led to his ejection for the remainder of the game, reports the press service of the NHL Department of Player Safety.
Detroit beat Vancouver at home in overtime – 4:3. Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov was sent off for the rest of the game at the start of the second period for an unsuccessful force against Lucas Raymond – the Russian hit his opponent in the head.
Zadorov will miss two upcoming games against Washington and Chicago.
Under the terms of the collective agreement and based on his average annual salary, Zadorov will lose $39,000. The money will be donated to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
