Head coach of SKA Romain Rotenberg shared his emotions after his first match at the SKA Arena.
On February 11, SKA played its first match in the new SKA Arena, which can accommodate 21,500 spectators. The match against Sochi (8:1) was attended by 21,481 people. This is officially the most attended game in the history of hockey stadiums. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom PJSC Alexey Miller gave an emotional speech before the start of the match.
— What feelings did you have while watching everything that was happening around you at the SKA Arena?
— For every coach, for every hockey player, it is a dream to play in front of full stands in the largest arena in the world. Emotions indescribable without more words. The best thing that can happen in the career of anyone associated with sports is hockey. Nothing more to add. I hope it will be like that every game.
— After Alexei Miller’s speech, some journalists even shed a tear. What were your emotions?
“I think every person shed a tear within themselves – it was all said with great emotion.” In fact, everything is like this – the truth always touches the soul. I just agree with what was said,” Rotenberg was quoted as saying by the SKA press service.
