Young Ukrainians lost to the tournament champions with a big score
Ukraine U-18 national hockey team lost heavily to the hosts, the team Slovakia in the final match at Memorial to Vlado Dzurilla – 1:8.
This fight decided the fate of the tournament medals. Let us remind you that earlier Alexander Bobkin’s team at the Dzurilla memorial lost to another Slovak team – U-18 – only in a shootout (3:4). However, the forces turned out to be unequal against older opponents.
At first, the young Ukrainians tried to put up a fight, and even managed to equalize the score. However, the hosts had more strength for the rest of the match.
Let us remind you that earlier in this tournament the blue-yellows beat Germany (6:5) in overtime and Japan (3:1) in regular time.
The final result of the Ukrainian youths at the Vlado Dzurilla memorial was bronze medals. At the same time, Slovakia U-19 took first place, and the Slovak U-18 team won silver.
