SKA’s first match in the new St. Petersburg arena set a world attendance record for hockey stadiums

Press service SKA reported that the club’s first match in the new arena in St. Petersburg became the most attended in the history of hockey stadiums.

On Sunday, the army team defeated Sochi at home with a score of 8:1 in the Fonbet KHL championship. The match at the SKA Arena in St. Petersburg was attended by 21,481 spectators.

– There is a record! Our first game at SKA Arena is officially the most attended game in hockey stadium history! 21,481 fans in the stands – St. Petersburg, you are the power,” the club press release said.

The arena is the largest hockey stadium in the world, with a capacity of 21,500 spectators. In December 2023, the KHL All-Star Game took place at the SKA Arena.
