Season schedule-2022/23 Continental Hockey League (KHL) published on the official tournament website.
The regular season kicks off on September 1 with a Cup opener match between current Gagarin Cup winners CSKA Moscow and last season’s runners-up Metallurg Magnitogorsk. On the next match day, Avtomobilist, Traktor, Kunlun Red Star, Spartak and Sochi will play their first home games of the season. Lokomotiv will play for the second time on the day of remembrance of the Tunoshnaya tragedy – on September 7, Yaroslavl will host Neftekhimik.
The regular season will last until February 26, 2023 and will consist of 164 matchdays and 748 games, each club will play 68 games. Of those, 42 – each with each (21 home + 21 away), 20 additional games with each team in their conference (10 home and away), six games as part of the draw spell to improve main matches.
In the regular season there will be a break for national team matches – from December 12 to 18, which will be preceded by Hockey Stars Week 2022 in Chelyabinsk on December 10-11.
In the schedule for the 2022/2023 season, the maximum uniformity in the distribution of matches per month has been achieved.
