Ottawa forward Vladimir Tarasenko said he didn’t think the club could trade him to another team before the deadline.
The 32-year-old forward scored 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 46 regular games in the NHL this season. The Russian’s contract contains a clause prohibiting trade to another NHL club. According to media reports, Ottawa management would like to ask the player to refuse this option.
– I do not think about it. I think about tomorrow’s match, I think about current things. If you focus too much on the past and the future, you will simply lose the present.
The most important thing is not to read experts on the Internet. I don’t go online and read hockey news. There are a lot of people, a lot of opinions. I know a lot of guys like to read and they take it very personally, but I think you need to focus mainly on yourself and do everything you can do in your situation.
When negotiations begin, we will of course consider all options. As I said before, there is nothing new yet,” Tarasenko was quoted as saying by the NHL press service.
