Athletistic / Hockey. Last night in Boston (Massachusetts, USA) during an away game of the NHL regular season, the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Boston Bruins (3:2 B) in a shootout. Nikita Kucherov greatly contributed to this Lightning success.
The 30-year-old Russian has scored 90 points in 53 games this season – 34 goals and 56 assists. Thus, Kucherov became only the sixth player in the last 30 years who did not need more than 55 NHL regular season games to score more than 90 points. Nikita repeated the feat of the following players: Wayne Gretzky (1993/1994), Jaromir Jagr (1995/1996), Mario Lemieux (twice – 1985/1996, 1996/1997), Sidney Crosby (2006/2007) and Connor McDavid (twice – 2020)/2021, 2022/2023).
Kucherov is currently the NHL’s top scorer of the season. Previously, he managed to win this title based on the results of the 2018/2019 season.
