Eric Cernak and Nikita Kucherov scored goals for the winners. The decisive shootout was scored by Tampa’s Canadian forward Brayden Point. Charlie McAvoy and James van Riemsdyk scored for Boston.
Nikita Kucherov was the first in the current NHL season to reach the 90-point mark (34+56) for his performance and strengthened his leadership in the NHL scoring race.
Tampa’s goal was defended by Andrei Vasilevsky. The 29-year-old Russian stopped 34 of 36 own shots and finished the match with a reliability rating of 94.44%.
Tampa after 54 matches has scored 63 points and is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Boston has scored 74 points in 53 games and is in first place in the East.
