“Salavat Yulayev” terminated the contract with the Russian striker Viktor Tikhonov according to the website of the Ufa hockey club.
Earlier, reported that Salavat has claims against Tikhonov, who announced his retirement under a contract valid for next season. Last week, the 34-year-old hockey player failed to arrive at the team’s venue for a training camp in Ufa.
– After the end of the season, Victor decided to end his career. All the nuances of the termination of the contract with the striker have been settled, Salavat Yulaev and Tikhonov terminated the employment contract by mutual agreement. We wish good luck and success to Viktor,” the statement read.
Tikhonov is a double winner of the Gagarin Cup, world champion. Last season, the forward played 36 games in the regular season and in the KHL playoffs, scored 21 points (8 goals and 13 assists). Tikhonov previously played for Severstal Cherepovets, SKA Petersburg and Ak Bars Kazan.
