Lawyers for victim of alleged abuse involving Canadian hockey players to provide NHL correspondence with players – media

Lawyers for the alleged rape victim in Canada are willing to provide the National Hockey League (NHL) with text messages and cellphone videos related to the incident, reports TSN .

According to media reports, the attack, which allegedly involved eight former Canadian Hockey League (CHL) players, took place on June 19, 2018 at a hotel in London, Ontario, Canada. The materials were turned over to the police a few days after the incident. Law enforcement dismissed the case on February 6, 2019 without criminal charges.

Ice Hockey Canada has reopened an investigation into the incident and the alleged victim, through his lawyer, said he would cooperate with the organization.

In a complaint filed in April 2022, the victim alleged that after the attacks, players ordered her to say she was sober when filmed. The woman claimed to have been heavily drunk before returning to one of the players’ hotel room and having consensual sex. According to her, seven other hockey players then entered the room, and for several hours she was physically abused, after which she was forced to take a shower, record a video and say that she was sober.

The NHL will begin interviewing players in the coming days, according to the material.
