Front SKA Vasily Glotov said that it would be interesting to hold a match between the KHL and NHL teams at the SKA Arena in St. Petersburg.
The last time SKA faced an NHL club was in 2010, when Carolina came to St. Petersburg in September.
— What do you think of the SKA Arena?
– Just great. The atmosphere is incredible. The scale of the palace is impressive. And here everything is new. It takes time to get used to it. But I’m sure for all the visiting teams and for the league as a whole it’s a big step forward. This shows how the KHL is developing. The more such arenas, the better. Maybe not even that huge. But such palaces must be built in other cities.
— You once said that SKA was ready to play with NHL clubs. Can you imagine the game against the Vegas Golden Knights at SKA Arena?
— I said in the sense that it doesn’t matter who we play with. On paper, it looks very loud. But really, bring any team. It would be interesting to organize a match between the NHL and the KHL. Everyone knows the NHL is an incredibly strong league. So we would see some very interesting hockey.
— Can you go to the NHL one day? What is your potential?
“Glotov is a player at the level of 60 points per season,” said SKA forward Valentin Zykov, sitting next to him, who himself played in the NHL.
“I’m glad to hear that from a partner.” Wait and watch. I’m trying to develop myself. Everyone wants to play in the NHL. But now I’m focusing on SKA’s victory in the Gagarin Cup. And then we will dance from that,” Glotov said in an interview with .
Glotov has collected 37 (21+16) points in 55 matches of the current championship. SKA occupies first place in the Western Conference standings with 89 points in 63 matches.
