Athletistic / Hockey. The North American edition of The Athletic’s reporter Jesse Marshall shared his opinion on Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin’s ability to be a passer.
“Malkin needs someone who can finish. I dove into the stats recently. Evgeniy creates an incredible number of scoring chances with his passes, but gets no return while finishing,” Marshall wrote on his social media page.
This NHL season, Evgeni Malkin played 50 games and scored 41 (16+25) points using the goal+pass system. Pittsburgh has scored 53 points in 50 matches and is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Penguins are in danger of missing the playoffs for a second straight season.
