Of course, it is time to return the Russian national hockey team to the international stage, and it is important for the IIHF and its president Luc Tardif to understand simply: without the Russian national team, all their tournaments are worthless.

In February 2022, the IIHF suspended all teams from Russia and Belarus from participation in international tournaments due to events in Ukraine. On February 12, the organization extended the suspension for the entire 2024/2025 international season. The decision on Russia’s participation in the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy will be made in February-March next year.
