The Sports and Disciplinary Commission of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) did not apply sanctions to Togliatti striker Lada Troy Josephs for a power move against the SKA Saint Petersburg striker Alexa Galcheniouk reports the league press service.
The meeting took place on February 13 in St. Petersburg and ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the hosts. Early in the second period, Josephs hit Galchenyuk in the head. There were no deletions during the match. Galchenyuk was placed on the injured list, SKA turned to the KHL with a request to study the episode.
“Based on the documents presented, it was decided not to impose sanctions on Lada forward Josephs under article 28 of the KHL disciplinary regulations,” the statement said.
This season, Josephs scored 29 points (20+9) in 52 KHL regular season games, Galchenyuk has 42 points (16+26) in 59 games.
