“During the first weeks of my work, we did not counterattack with the Russian Hockey Federation in any way. There were no messages or calls coming out of us or them. Sometimes the world changes and we keep our doors open, but now is not the time,” Nurminen said.
Matti Nurminen took over as general secretary in June 2022. The Russian national hockey team is still suspended from participation in international competitions.
