Russian hockey player Ilya Mikheev previously signed with the club NHL Vancouver Canucks answered what he lacks in Canada.
– A family. The family only came once, and that’s when I had an injury. Friends too, but you understand that you have such a job.
What else but family? Food or maybe a bath?
– For the past three years we have settled here in Toronto, we know where the bathhouse is, the Russian store. In terms of life, everything has been adjusted. Now we’re going to experience it all in Vancouver.
– Do you have daily allowances?
— $110-115 a day, yes. You are your own master. If you want, you go eat, if you want, you have a snack at the hotel. With the guys you go to five-six-seven people and you went to the restaurant.
I went there for the first season, I kept quiet and didn’t understand anything, but the guys helped me order from the menu. They were constantly saying, “What do you want: fish, meat or something else?” Mikheev, 27, said during a Zoom press conference.
Mikheev played for Toronto from 2019 to 2022. Before that, the hockey player played for Omsk Avangard.
