Earlier, sport‑express.ru reported that the Chinese passports of more than ten Kunlun hockey players who were not born in China were declared invalid and canceled.
“The information is not true, its source is unknown to the club,” Kunlun press service told .
“Kunlun” ranks ninth in the Western Conference standings; in 63 matches of the regular season of the Fonbet Championship, the team scored 50 points and lost its chances of reaching the playoffs. The Chinese club has been playing in the KHL since the 2016/17 season, when it reached the playoffs for the only time, losing to Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the first round.
