Athletistic / Hockey. The Tampa Bay Lightning suffered a crushing home loss last night in the NHL regular season game against the Florida Panthers. The match took place on the ice of the Amalie Arena and ended with a score of 9:2 in favor of the 2023 Stanley Cup finalists.
Carter Verage, Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk scored two goals each for the winners, and Brandon Montour, Kevin Stenlund and Gustav Forsling upset the Lightning once each. Brandon Hagel and Brayden Point scored for Tampa.
Tampa forward Nikita Kucherov had an assist in this game. Russian goaltender Andrei Vasilevsky allowed six goals and gave way to Swede Jonas Johansson in the third period on the Lightning’s last defensive line. Florida’s goal was defended by Sergei Bobrovsky, who blocked 28 of 30 shots on his possessions.
Tampa has scored 65 points in 56 matches and is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Florida leads the East with 76 points after 55 matches.
