Ovechkin became the second-longest hitting streak for a player over 38 in Washington history.

Before “Washington » Alexander Ovechkin came second for the longest goal streak among club players over 38 years old, reports the press service of the National Hockey League.

Washington defeated Montreal in the regular NHL championship match with a score of 4: 3. Ovechkin scored an assist in this meeting.

The Russian forward became the second player in Capitals history aged 38 or older to have an eight-game hitting streak. Ovechkin has 10 (6+4) scoring points in these games.

First place goes to former Capitals forward Adam Oates, who twice had an 11-game point streak (2000-2001 and 01-2002 seasons).
