Athletistic / Hockey. The famous Russian hockey coach Andrei Nazarov reacted to the decision of the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court, which decided to forcibly recover 2.8 million euros from Dynamo Riga in favor of Gazprom Export.
“I read the news that the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court issued a writ of execution for the forced recovery of 2.8 million euros from Dynamo Riga. I think the court made a decision quite absolutely correct. It is time for Latvians to pay their bills. Of course, there will be problems receiving funds, given the current political situation, but we have made it clear that we are not satisfied with this that is happening.
The current global situation is crystal clear and the ball is starting to turn more and more towards Russia. The more this happens, the more we will hear cries: “Isn’t it time to bring Russia back to the international stage?” And when we win, and we certainly will, all the bills issued to our enemies must be paid to the last penny. This applies to Latvians, Finns and everyone else. The truth is on Russia’s side. Victory will come to those who have the truth! – “Championship” quotes Nazarov.
Riga Dynamo was restored before the first season in the KHL – in 2008. In February 2022, after the start of SVO in Ukraine, Dynamo announced its withdrawal from the KHL participants and played in the Latvian championship during the 2022/2023 season. Throughout the season, Riga residents experienced serious financial problems, which led to all the main hockey players leaving Dynamo in the fall and winter. As a result, the team finished the season with a youth squad.
