The famous former hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hasek does not understand why the NHL allows Russians to play.
The NHL must pay money to Ukraine for every year the league allows Russian hockey players to play. This is what former legendary Czech goalkeeper Dominik Hasek said.
The two-time winner of the Stanley Cup believes that in this way the NHL is doing positive advertising for the aggressor country, and because of this, many civilian Ukrainians are dying.
“Russian hockey players continue to play in the NHL, unlike the International Hockey Federation, which forbids them to play. The competitions they hold at home are their business, we cannot influence it. But the NHL, unfortunately, allows them to play and advertise and are Russian criminals, so the NHL should be treated accordingly.
I believe that one day the NHL will have to pay money for this – the money they earned from this advertising, because because of this activity of the NHL, many people died in Ukraine, the country suffered enormous damage. When considering NHL revenues, we are not talking about millions of dollars, but billions of dollars.
Their income is about 6 billion dollars a year. I want them to pay Ukraine at least 2 billion for each season. This money will not restore human life in Ukraine, but I am convinced that they should pay this money for every year that Russian players play there,” Hasek said in an interview with Voice of America.
We remind you that Russia and Belarus have extended the ban on world hockey.
