According to , in the fall of 2023, the KHL developed a draft amendments to the Federal Sports Law of the Russian Federation and a number of other regulatory legal acts in order to withdraw from the auspices of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHR) and, accordingly, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF), but at the moment the initiative has not been definitively approved.
“I have no information that such a decision has been made or is going to be made.” What could be the reaction of the IIHF? I don’t know, they didn’t discuss such a topic with me there,” Bure told .
