On Thursday, Washington defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins with a score of 6:0 in an NHL regular season away game. Miroshnichenko scored at the end of the second period, for the 20-year-old striker it was the first goal in the league. The Russian hockey player played five matches in the regular season.

In March 2022, Miroshnichenko was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, the same year he underwent treatment and returned to the ice.
