Russian forward “Colorado Avalanche” Valery Nichushkin who was following the NHL Player Assistance Program, will return to the team during the regular season game with “Minnesota” .
Colorado head coach Jared Bednar announced Nichushkin’s return to the lineup, as cited by journalist Michael Russo on the X social network.
In January, the 28-year-old Russian was included in the NHL’s player assistance program. The NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program helps hockey players with mental problems and/or addictions (alcohol, drugs). In late February, Nichushkin was cleared to practice with Colorado.
This season, the Russian forward has 42 points (22+20) in 40 regular season games. Colorado is fourth in the Western Conference standings with 83 points.
Nichushkin’s contract with avalanche with a salary of $6.125 million until the end of the 2029/30 season.
