Athletistic / Hockey. On the night of March 9, the last trades of the current season took place in the NHL. Following one of them, Russian forward Dmitry Ovchinnikov left the Toronto Maple Leafs for the Minnesota Wild.
As a result of the deal, Toronto acquired forward Connor Dewar. In the opposite direction, Ovchinnikov was a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Ovchinnikov spent the current season for the Toronto farm club in the AHL. There, the 21-year-old Russian played 20 matches and scored 10 (7+3) points thanks to the goal+pass system. Dewar has played in 57 games for Minnesota during the current NHL regular season and has scored 14 (10+4) assists.
In Russia, Dmitry Ovchinnikov played for Sibir Novosibirsk, where he was a student.
