“Three hundred percent Khusnutdinov will not play in the AHL” – agent about the forward’s contract with Minnesota

Agent Alexander Chernykh, representing the interests of the attacker Marata Khusnutdinova expressed confidence that the hockey player would not play in the AHL after signing a contract with Minnesota.

At the end of February, the Wild reached a two-year deal with the 21-year-old forward.

— Marat Khusnutdinov signed a contract with Minnesota. Was he quietly released in Sochi?

— It’s not entirely calm, but the club met us halfway. We met Marat, discussed and decided to terminate the contract.

— In Minnesota, do we see him in the main team or in the farm club?

— Three hundred percent he won’t go there to play in the AHL. And then time will tell.

— He won’t want to return to Russia if he’s sent to the AHL?

— If the club says, “We want your faceoff percentage to go up and you go to the AHL for four or five games,” then that’s a situation. Although there are no details, it is difficult to predict future decisions,” Chernykh said, as quoted by RB Sport.

Khusnutdinov played 55 games for Sochi and SKA Saint Petersburg in the last KHL regular season and scored 20 (6+14) points.

Minnesota selected the player in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft, 37th overall. The forward terminated his contract with Sochi after the end of the KHL regular season, and then it became known that he had signed a deal with Minnesota.
