The blue-yellows managed to win back three goals in the last five minutes
Ukrainian women’s national ice hockey team made a remarkable comeback against Serbia in the third match World Cup 2024 in Division IIIA – 4:3.
Serbian hockey players won the first period with a score of 2:0, and at the beginning of the second they took the lead with a large score. Valeria Manchak-Jensen quickly managed to score one goal.
In the third period, our opponents restored the status quo and, it seemed, closed the game – 1:4. But the Ukrainians showed an amazing will to win, winning back a triple deficit in the score in the last five minutes. Manchak-Jensen scored a hat-trick, and Daria Tsimirenko made the saving goal.
The game went into overtime, and there the blue-and-yellows managed to score an incredible victory. The winning score was set by the undisputed heroine of the Manchak-Jensen fights.
With eight points, Ukraine ranks second in Division IIIA. In the next match on March 15, the blue-yellows will face the leader – the Romanian national team, which has scored the maximum (9) in three rounds.
Let us remind you that according to the regulations, only the winner of a group of six teams will be promoted to the division for the next season.
