Athletistic/Hockey. Three-time Stanley Cup winner Igor Larionov spoke about Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin’s pursuit of Wayne Gretzky’s record.
“I will be happy if Ovechkin overtakes Gretzky. It is very important for Alexander to maintain his standards. It will not be easy. The closer he gets, the more difficult it will be,” Larionov is quoted as saying by TASS.
Ovechkin is now second on the list of best snipers in NHL history. The 38-year-old Russian has 840 goals. There are 54 goals left before Gretzky repeats the record.
