Russian Carolina defenseman Orlov recognized as first star of NHL game

Russian defender “Caroline » Dmitry Orlov recognized as the first star of the day of the NHL regular season, reports the league press service.

The Hurricanes beat Ottawa 7-2 on Sunday. Orlov scored twice and made two assists. Compatriot and teammate of Orlov Evgeny Kuznetsov scored two points in this match (1+1).

The second star was Winnipeg forward Tyler Toffoli, who scored three points in the match against Columbus (6:1). The puck was scored in this game by Russian Jets forward Vladislav Namestnikov.

The third star is Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby, who scored a goal and an assist in the match against Detroit (6:3).
