Kuznetsov scored a goal and an assist in the meeting with the Canadian team. This brought the 31-year-old Russian to 572 career NHL goals. Kuznetsov now ranks 18th on the list of top Russian scorers in North American League history. After the match in Ottawa, Evgeniy repeated the result of legendary defender Andrei Markov (572 points in 990 matches). Kuznetsov has scored a similar number of points in 729 matches.
Evgeny Kuznetsov played for the Washington Capitals for 11 years. With the Capitals, he won the Stanley Cup in 2018. The Russian was traded to Carolina on March 8. His contract with the Hurricanes is valid until the end of the 2024/2025 season.
