Russian defenseman for the NHL Tampa Bay club Lightning » Mikhail Sergachev began training on the ice after a leg injury.
In February, Sergachev suffered fractures to the tibia and fibula of his left leg during an NHL regular season game against the New York Rangers. The Russian then underwent surgery. Prior to the match against Rangers, Sergachev had not played since mid-December, also due to a leg injury.
“It’s great to be back on the ice,” Sergachev wrote on a social network, posting a video of the training.
This season, Sergachev played 34 matches in which he scored 19 (2+17) points. The player has been playing for Tampa since 2017 and with the club he became a two-time Stanley Cup winner.
