Athletistic / Hockey. Tampa Bay Lightning head coach John Cooper spoke about the progress of defenseman Mikhail Sergachev’s recovery. Last night, the 25-year-old Russian returned to training on the ice for the first time after breaking his leg.

“Sergachev is showing progress, which is very cool. I think it’s also very good for his morale. He’s making progress, and I can’t believe that only six weeks have passed since that scary moment. Misha is great! I hope he progresses and continues,” Cooper was quoted as saying by the Tampa Bay Times.

Mikhail Sergachev was seriously injured on February 8 in a match against the New York Rangers (1:3). It is noteworthy that this happened in the first match after recovering from a knee injury, due to which he missed almost two months. As a result, the Russian hockey player had to undergo surgery to stabilize fractures in the tibia and fibula bones of his left leg.

This season, Mikhail Sergachev played 34 games in the regular NHL championship and scored 19 points (2+17) and was productive. As a member of Tampa, the Russian became a two-time winner of the Stanley Cup.
