“The team continues preparations for the third match of the second round of the KHL playoffs with Lokomotiv as planned. After the recovery training, Avangard will fly to Yaroslavl,” the club said in a statement.
It is separately noted that Sergei Zvyagin was appointed acting head coach of Avangard.
On March 18, the “hawks” lost to Lokomotiv (0: 7) in the second match of the second round of the 2024 Gagarin Cup. After that, the series score became 2-0 in favor of the railway workers. The third meeting of the teams will take place in Yaroslavl on March 20.
Mikhail Kravets has taken charge of Avangard for the 2022/2023 season. Last season, Omsk reached the Eastern Conference final, where they lost to Ak Bars.
