KHL expressed condolences over terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall

The press service of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) expressed its condolences following the events that occurred at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the Moscow region.

On Friday evening, unknown assailants opened fire on the Crocus town hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, where a concert by the band Picnic was to take place. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission of the FSB, the terrorist attack has currently left 40 dead and more than 100 injured. A violent fire broke out in the building. The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened criminal proceedings regarding the terrorist attack.

— The Continental Hockey League expresses its condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to all those injured in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. Information about KHL, Youth Hockey League (MHL) and Women’s Hockey League (WHL) matches will also be released, the KHL said in a statement.

In several regions of the Russian Federation, mass and sporting events planned for the weekend have been canceled.
