In early March, Carolina announced the transfer of Evgeny Kuznetsov following a trade with Washington. On Friday, the Russian played for the first time in Washington against his former team.
During one of the breaks of the first period in the Washington arena, a video was shown of Kuznetsov’s performance for the club from the American capital.
The fans gave Kuznetsov a standing ovation, who returned the favor.
Kuznetsov won the Stanley Cup with Washington in 2018.
