On Friday evening, unknown assailants opened fire on the Crocus town hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, where a concert by the band Picnic was to take place. According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, 133 people died as a result of the attack. The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee has opened criminal proceedings regarding the terrorist attack.
