Athletistic / Hockey. Former head coach of the Russian national hockey team Vladimir Krikunov shared his opinion on Russian Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin’s pursuit of legendary Wayne Gretzky’s record for NHL goals.

Ovechkin scored 846 goals in regular NHL championships during his career. He is second only to Gretzky in this indicator, who has 894 goals.

“I think all of Russia supports Ovechkin. So that he can catch up and overtake Gretzky. So we will watch him, we will support him. Maybe he will catch up with him in a few years.
