Athletistic / Hockey. The Edmonton Oilers lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs (3:6) last night in an NHL regular season away game. That didn’t stop Oilers captain Connor McDaviv from once again writing his name into league history.
McDavid participated in all three Edmonton goals in this match, becoming the author of a hat-trick with an assist. It should be noted that Connor completed all three assists in the third period. Thus, for the eighth time in his NHL career, McDavid recorded three assists in a 20-minute period. This allowed him to repeat the feat of Sidney Crosby and Nikita Kucherov.
Now, only four active NHL players have helped their teammates three times in a single period at least eight times in their careers. In first place in this category is Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Bäckström (12). Note that the Swede has not announced his retirement, but has missed almost the entire current season.
