Washington forward TJ Oshie was recognized as the best player of the match (two assists); before the start of the game, a ceremony was held in the arena in honor of his 1,000 NHL games.
The second star was named Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren (27 saved shots and one goal), and the third was Washington defenseman John Carlson (the game’s first winning goal).
