Former Salavat player Yulaeva Evgeny Biryukov told he was considering retirement, but wanted to stay in hockey.

Biryukov graduated from Magnitogorsk hockey. He played for Metallurg Magnitogorsk from 2005 to 2020, he played 928 matches for the club and scored 148 (25+123) points. In May 2020, the defender signed a contract with Salavat Yulaev. For four seasons for the Ufa club, he played 222 matches, in which he scored 21 (2+19) points.

— My future plans are still in question, because I am considering retiring from my career.
