Athletistic/Hockey. International referee Alexander Zaitsev expressed his opinion regarding the statements of the SKA hockey club regarding biased refereeing in matches against Avtomobilist.

“SKA’s statements? Medvedev does not seem to be very competent in refereeing matters. When he himself was president of the KHL, he never raised questions about the work of referees.

Yes, this season the referees have made a lot of mistakes and there have been some complaints about them. It’s clear. Perhaps the human factor played a role in this insufficient experience – all this plays a role. But talking about biased judgment in this series is not entirely appropriate. I cannot agree with the statements that have been made. If there are problems, they must be discussed within the professional community, including within the judiciary. Everyone must do their job. I understand if a goal was miscounted or something like that, but I’m nitpicking. Let me tell you, the guys did a great job! This is a fact,” Zaitsev shared in an interview with a correspondent of “Championship”.

This morning, SKA released an official statement from the chairman of the club’s board of directors, Alexander Medvedev, in which he criticized the refereeing during the playoffs.
