Kovalchuk on his future career: “Some decisions have to be made with a fresh mind, but now there are a lot of emotions. I want to relax”

“It’s just a shame that there was such a wonderful atmosphere this year, and we won’t see it again.” I mean, until next season. We talked a lot with the guys about how these moments should be enjoyed. And it just seems like you’re young, young, this will happen to you many more times. But in fact, a hockey career is so fast and unpredictable that this will never happen to any member of this team. And he won’t play in the playoffs. Especially for Spartak.

— What does the rest of your career depend on? Personal well-being or suggestions?

– What are the proposals? Now I have to take a break. It was actually interesting: there was a lot of hockey and training. Very fresh and rich. My family is here. It’s good that the children came to the game, it’s very cool. We’ll see what happens next. I need to exhale for a few days.

— You joined Spartak in December. Would it be interesting to go through the entire season with the “red-whites”, starting with the pre-season?

– Let’s spend some time. Some decisions need to be made with a fresh mind. And now there are a lot of emotions. “I want to relax,” Kovalchuk told .

This season, 40-year-old Kovalchuk played 25 matches and scored 8 (4+4) points.
