Roman Rotenberg was named head coach of SKA on January 4, 2022. During his leadership of the St. Petersburg club, Rotenberg achieved 126 victories and won five playoff series in the KHL. The previous season, SKA won the Continental Cup for winning the regular season. Rotenberg is also one of the top three active coaches in the KHL in terms of winning percentage.
