A new attendance record was set during the matches of the second round of the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs, the league press service reports.
A total of 238,020 spectators attended the Gagarin Cup quarter-finals. The previous record (213,481 spectators) was established during the 2010/2011 season.
The average attendance of the second round also broke a record – 10,819 spectators (the previous record was 9,078 in the 2018/2019 season).
The KHL also recorded a record attendance during two rounds: 645,290 spectators (the previous record was 554,060 during the 2010/2011 season). The average attendance for the first two rounds was a record 9,928 spectators (the previous record was 8,517 in the 2018/2019 season).
Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, Chelyabinsk Traktor, Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist and Magnitogorsk Metallurg will compete to reach the Gagarin Cup final.
The Lokomotiv – Traktor series will begin on April 2, the next day the confrontation between Metallurg and Avtomobilist will begin.
