SKA won the case against the KHL over the fine imposed on Rotenberg, the league must return 500,000 rubles to the club

As has learned, SKA successfully challenged a fine of half a million rubles imposed on the club’s head coach Romain Rotenberg by the KHL Sports and Disciplinary Commission in December 2023.

The decision was made by an arbitration tribunal administered by the National Center for Sports Arbitration. He overturned the decision of the KHL disciplinary committee, recognizing as illegal the imposition of a fine on SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg on December 22, 2023. The court fully satisfied the demands of SKA and ordered to KHL LLC to return 500,000 rubles to SKA.

Separately, SKA will appeal the fine imposed by the KHL on the chairman of the club’s board of directors, Alexander Medvedev, for a statement made on March 26, 2024. Earlier, Medvedev told that he was necessary to analyze the work of KHL referees.

SKA lost to Ekaterinburg Avtomobilist in the second round of the Gagarin Cup with a score of 1–4.
