Director Severstal Nikolai Kanakov spoke about the changes in the team’s budget in the new season.
This season of the Fonbet KHL Championship, Severstal took fifth place in the Western Conference standings. In the first round of the Gagarin Cup, the club lost to Spartak Moscow with a score of 1–4 in the series.
– Next season, salaries will increase by 45 million rubles – from 405 to 450, will the club’s budget increase by this amount?
– No. There is a salary plan, but everything else – services, flights, hotels – becomes more expensive because of inflation. The club’s budget will increase further. Not exactly that 45 million – more. You understand: yesterday the plane cost 100 rubles, and today it costs 120 rubles. The price increases by at least 20%.
