Coach Alexandre Youdin appreciated the striker’s transition Dmitry Yashkina in St. Petersburg S.K.A. noting that the conclusion of an agreement with a top legionnaire is a testament to the successful work of the club’s management.
Earlier on Monday, the Czech hockey player of Russian origin signed a one-year contract with the Saint Petersburg team.
– The signing of a player like Yashkin is a great success for the management of Saint Petersburg. It’s no secret that it is now extremely difficult to conclude a contract with a legionnaire of this level. You can draft average North Americans into the AHL, but Peter obviously doesn’t need them. Yashkin has experience in the KHL, he does not need to adapt to the league, and everyone already knows about the performance – more than 60 points for two consecutive seasons.
I know that several big clubs applied for him, and SKA proved to be the most convincing. Yashkin’s partners in St. Petersburg will certainly be no worse than at Dynamo. A powerful and scoring player will come in handy for any team, and there are now plenty of promising new players in St. Petersburg. It will be very interesting to watch SKA in the new season, – Yudin is quoted as saying by the “Championship”.
Yashkin played for Dynamo Moscow from 2019 to 2021.
In total, Yashkin played 133 games in the KHL and scored 137 points (77 + 60) with a utility indicator of +67. The Czech forward spent the last season in the NHL with Arizona. Due to a lower body injury, he played in 12 regular season games, in which he allowed 1 assist.
