Soviet and Russian hockey player Alexander Mogilny said he didn’t feel anything when the Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Koucherov broke his record for points among Russians in a season NHL .
In the 2018/19 season, Kucherov scored 128 points, surpassing Mogilny’s (127).
— How did you feel when, in the 2018/2019 season, Kucherov broke my record for the most points for the Russians (laughs)? I felt absolutely nothing. My record… What kind of record is it (laughs)? There was a time when we were playing, people were scoring between 160 and 180 points. And no one said anything about it.
Kucherov is a great guy, I have praised him before. Records are made to be broken. This is where progress comes from.
And I felt absolutely nothing. What could I feel (smiles)? – The championship cites Mogilny.
This season, Kucherov scored 127 points (42 goals and 85 assists) in 73 games.
